- Individual arrival in Scopello, a very small village sprung up around an ancient “baglio” dating back to the seventeenth-century. Briefing about the tour, the road book and all the informative papers.
- SCOPELLO - BUSETO PALIZZOLO (47 km / +860m). From Scopello you reach the archaeological site of Segesta, one of the most important and evocative archeological sites in Sicily because of its impressive temple and breathtaking sea view. Segesta in the past was a powerful town founded by the Elymians, a population coming from Turkey, and then conquered by the Greeks and the Romans.
- BUSETO PALIZZOLO - TRAPANI (34 km / +460m). During this day you cycle inland, passing through solitary country places where you can experience the real country life of this part of Sicily.
- TRAPANI - MARSALA (50 km / +460m). Today you ride in total relax! The panoramic road runs along the sea, where the view of the windmills on the salinas is amazing. Then, you have the chance to visit the little uncontaminated punic island of Mozia, where you can find an archaeological site and a private museum. Just a few kilometres and you reach Marsala. Don't miss the chance to visit one of the cantine where the typical liqueur, the “Marsala”, is produced.
- MARSALA - SELINUNTE (70 km / +600m). This hilly stage leads you to the Archaeological sites of Cave di Cusa and Selinunte, the ancient Selinus, and gives you the chance to explore the inland. Leaving the flat vineyards around Marsala, you ride inland towards some rolling hills and then down to the sea again, passing by the Cave di Cusa, one of the most fascinating stone quarries of the Greek period. The archaeological park surrounding Selinunte and its monuments extends about 1.300 metres east to west.
- SELINUNTE - SAMBUCA (38 km / +600m). Starting from the sea level, an amazing itinerary takes you to the inland. Cycling on flat and hilly terrain through history and tradition, you find a few uphills and long descents through forests and cultivated grounds till reaching the little town of Sambuca di Sicilia.
- SAMBUCA - CORLEONE (57 km / +1400m). Today you cycle inland, surrounded by a scenery of great effect. Starting from the village of Sambuca, where the Church deserves a visit, you pass through the “Monte Genuardo natural reserve” and the village of Contessa Entellina. From the arab “Quirlian”, Corleone was an ancient punic-sicilian centre. The first settlement was built upon the hill above the village. Corleone is also known as the “town of one hundred churches”, the most famous is the Main Church founded around the year 1.000. But Corleone is better known in relation to the movie “The Godfather” by Francis Ford Coppola.
- CORLEONE - MONREALE (58 km / +1450m). The last cycling day gives you breathtaking views and exciting moments. An old railway track leads you to the entrance of the archaeological site of Monte Jato and the lake of Piana degli Albanesi. Along the way do not miss the “cannolo”, typical sicilian cake in Santa Cristina Gela. Then, you finally reach the town of Monreale whose origins are from an arab village along the slopes of Monte Caputo, 310m above sea level. The main attraction is certainly the Dome, built by William II between the 1172 and 1176.
